Classes
We teach Blacksmithing, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Automotive Diagnostics and Repair, Machine Diagnostics and Repair, Joinery and Carpentry.
All our classes are completely hands-on. Theory is taught while working with the tools. We adapt to each student’s needs and interests. The teaching material and workspace is customized for each student during class.
We have the full trade apprenticeship to teach. We also offer private lessons, group experiences, and team building workshops.
Blacksmithing Classes
Ages 10+
Students 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult unless they can demonstrate necessary musculoskeletal development, maturity, and autonomy.
$525 -8hr
$262.50 -4hr half class
If you are a beginner looking to swing a hammer for the first time or already have experience and are looking to pick up new skills and experience, we can help you find your way.
We teach how to efficiently and safely use solid fuel firepots burning metallurgical coke and forge on full-size German pattern anvils with 1-2kg square-headed cross pein hammers.
Teamwork and working with a striker is fundamental to our system of forging. Each student works at their own anvil on their own project, sharing a firepot and tools with the student next to them. Students act as strikers for each other as well as managing the fire and shared workspace as a team. Each class is designed to build off of the previous class, from Basic Level to Advanced Level.
Classes are held on Saturdays from 10am-8pm with a group lunch in the middle. Group bookings and private classes can be booked any time. During this class students are guided through forging a number of simple projects to take home such as a fire poker, a dinner triangle, square nails, a nail header, a bottle opener, a knife, a hatchet, wall hooks, garden tools and decor, a leaf key-chain, pendants, and more.

Blacksmithing Workshops
Build your own refractory firepot (2 classes)
This 2 day workshop to teaches you about basic metal fabrication and welding, castable refractory, forge theory, and firepot design. You will prepare and fabricate a metal firepot shell from 1/4" mild steel, mix and cast a refractory liner, and then cure the firepot for use. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to take home your firepot.
On the first day of the class, after the refractory is cast, the rest of the class is spent forging basic fire tools. On the second day of the class, the firepot is installed into our forge table and then dried using the heat from the coke fire. During the drying process, students will be forging at the anvil, using their firepot to make their own set of basic blacksmithing tools.
