Our mission is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to establish your own forge. In our forge, we focus on two man smithing as this is the proper form.

We like to be adaptable to each student’s needs. Class material and speed of progression is customized to each student during the class. Class dates and times are open and will be scheduled once a class waitlist is full, according to group availability. Once the class is full, we will reach out to you to arrange the date and time of the class.

Prepare for Class Checklist

For the class you need to bring:

  • Steel toed leather boots
  • 100% cotton pants (cotton jeans work)
  • Long sleeve 100% cotton shirt
  • Clear face visor
  • Cotton welding cap
  • Ear plugs
  • Leather apron (optional)

Covid-19 Safety

Our forge has an open air setup with a strong natural cross draft. The forging is done in front of our 12’x 14’ bay door. The anvils are set up more than 2 meters apart and face visors are mandatory. We have 2 handwashing stations and common shop surfaces are regularly cleaned. Each student will be using their own steel, anvil, and hammers for the duration of the class. Proper forging is a relaxed activity that does not make you sweat or cause heavy breathing.

Fun at the Forge

Fun at the Forge is a 4 hour social media/entertainment experience for events like birthday parties and bachelor parties for $250/person, 4-6 people.

This is a fun focused event where you can get your hands dirty and do some forging with your friends. There will be demonstrations, group forging activities for people in the same isolation bubble, and personal forging time to play around with different forging projects. We will be taking videos and pictures of you forging to take home with you along with any forged items you make.

This is separate from our education and training focused courses.

Introduction to Blacksmithing

In this one day educational instruction class you will be initiated to fascinating world of blacksmithing.

The intro class is designed to establish a strong foundation in forge safety, stance, hammer form and control, fire handling, tool and anvil identification, forge layout, and forging protocol. We use coke forges burning at over 3600°F, so students need to be well grounded in proper safety and form to be successful in subsequent classes. Each class is designed to build off the previous class from intro-advanced.

$450/8hr class on Saturday’s. Students can also opt for 2X 4hr half classes on Thursday and Friday evenings. If you wish to split the class into two days.
Students can also choose to book half of the intro class only and book the second half at a later date. $250/half class if booked separately.
